LEAGUE OF WOMEN VOTERS LINN COUNTY HOLDING HYBRID,
VIRTUAL AND IN-PERSON, CANDIDATE FORUMS ON OCTOBER 19

The League of Women Voters Linn County candidate forums will be both in-person and live-streamed Tuesday, October 19 in Beems Auditorium of the Cedar Rapids Main Library. All candidates for contested seats have been invited and the event is open to the public.

The forums include Cedar Rapids School Board candidates from 5:00-5:45 pm,
City Council candidates from 6:00-6:45 pm, and
mayoral candidates from 7-7:45 pm.
Community members will be able to present their questions at the forum to the League members organizing the questions. In addition, anyone can submit a question in advance through a questionnaire survey at the Linn County League of Women Voters website.

Voter Services co-chairs Carolyn Stephenson and Susan VanWoert point out that β€œthe League is very aware of the health and safety of all attendees.” Masking is required per city directive of all participants. In the event the library is closed to in-person events at the time of the forums, the forums will still be offered by live stream. Whether hybrid or online-only, the forum will be recorded and available on the League of Women Voters Linn County website www.lwvlinncounty.org .

Hiawatha Candidate Forum will be Thursday, October 21 from 6:30-7:30 pm in the Hiawatha Community Center. It will be in person. All candidates for contested seats have been invited and the event is open to the public.

League Book Club will meet via ZOOM on Friday, October 22,
1:00-3:00pm
